Here are some mistakes to avoid when it comes to painting your property.

1) Skipping surface preparation
It is crucial to prepare the surfaces before starting the painting job. Clean the walls to remove dirt, dust, and grease. Fix any blemishes, flaws, or cracks to create a smooth surface. Please do so to avoid a subpar paint finish and less durability.

2) Choosing low-quality paint
Investing in high-quality paint can make a significant difference in the outcome of your project. Cheap paints might require more coats, have inferior coverage, and may not last as long as better-quality options. Opt for reputable paint brands and choose the appropriate type for each surface (e.g., interior, exterior, bathroom, kitchen).

High quality paint will significantly impact how well your project turns out. Technological breakthrough within the paint industry have since created non solvent-based Enamel paints which are dilutable with water. Likewise, Emulsion paints with smooth, glossy enamel-like finish were also introduced into the market.

The traditional perception of Enamel paint as paint giving hard and glossy finish has now a misconception. There are many types of solvent-based paints like Acrylic, Polyurethane and Epoxy which all have similar gloss finish. These paints are made from different types of Binders and have different applications. Enamel normally refers only to the binder family Alkyd Resin which is generally used for wood and metal surfaces (Table 2A). Paints made of Polyurethane and Epoxy resins on the other hand can be used not only for wood and metal substrates, but also can be applied to masonry surfaces.

In view of such application versatility and appearance similarity of the new paints, it is imperative that the Binder / Resin component of the paint should be used for identification, e.g. Acrylic Emulsion, Alkyd Resin Enamel etc. As such, Table 2A sets out to classify paints by the Binder / Resin family, the solvent used and the general characteristics and properties of these paints.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row disable_element=”yes”][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”116″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_border” css_animation=”none”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”The Real Painting Mistakes to Avoid for Your New or Old House” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left|color:%233abca2″ google_fonts=”font_family:Arvo%3Aregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic|font_style:700%20bold%20regular%3A700%3Anormal”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] Hold on !
